You should make clearing the Martian Madness event your priority as you will want to get your hands on Cosmic Car Key for the Overlords. You may also want to complete the Pumpkin and Frost Moon before attempting Golem as many classes gain a power spike from the vanilla items obtainable from said events. Mod of Redemption/The Belrose The BelroseĮvery class gets a major power boost after defeating Plantera thanks to the introduction of Hikarite Alloy, a crafting material that requires Ectoplasm from the dungeon, which can be used to craft armor for each vanilla class. Though he is an optional boss that can be fought at any stage, it is advised you fight him before Plantera as he can provide many useful items for all classes, most of which become obsolete in further stages of the game. Unfortunately most classes do not gain access to Hardmode Redemption armor until you reach the Abandoned Lab. It is highly advised that you battle the Seed of Infection if you haven't already, as it will open up a plethora of bosses that you would otherwise be unable to fight.
